Cyprus has sufficient grain for human consumption for at least three months, the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, Costas Kadis, said.
In the context of addressing the problems arising in the global supply chain as a result of Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the imposition of international sanctions against Moscow, Mr. Kadis had a meeting yesterday with flour manufacturers and importers of cereals for human use, with the aim of discussing ways to address any problems that arise in the disposal of these goods.
Asked about the adequacy of the stocks, the Minister of Agriculture said that there is sufficiency in the grain for human consumption for a period of at least three months.
"We can feel safe, but we are constantly monitoring the situation," he said.
