With the advance obligation to fill in the data by all passengers arriving in Cyprus on the Cyprus Flight Pass platform, April entered, a month that is expected to increase tourist flows due to the Easter holidays. Despite the suggestions made by the president of DISY, in a meeting with tourism agencies, for the abolition of the Cyprus Flight Pass from April 1st, the issue, as "F" is informed, has not yet been discussed in the competent Interministerial Committee established due to the pandemic for the operation of airports.
We recall that Averoff Neophytou had proposed the abolition of the Cyprus Flight Pass "thus removing yet another bureaucratic obstacle to tourist inflows" in early March, after the outbreak of war in Ukraine to facilitate travel and tourism in general.
The fact that the recommendation has not yet been addressed by the Interministerial Committee was also confirmed by the Deputy Minister of Tourism Savvas Perdios, stating that the event is due to the domestic restrictions that continue as well as the use of safepass. The two - the Cyprus Flight Pass and the safepass - are connected, explained speaking to "F" Mr. Perdios, who has for some time been in favour of abolishing the Cyprus Flight Pass, since other competing destinations of Cyprus, such as Greece, England and France have already ended the mandatory completion of an entry form. According to the deputy minister, on the issue it is not excluded that there will be developments after the recommendations that will be made to the minister of health by the experts. Following these recommendations, according to the Deputy Minister of Tourism, there is expected to be a discussion in the Interministerial Committee chaired by the Minister of Transport.
It is worth noting, however, that the Council of Ministers only on Wednesday decided to extend the existing measures to deal with the pandemic until the 11th of the month and the relevant decree has already been issued.
