DUST RETURNS OVER THE EASTER WEEKEND

A new wave of dust will affect the area of Cyprus on Holy Saturday, but also on Easter Day.

Speaking on state radio, the Director of the Meteorological Service, Kleanthis Nikolaidis, noted that dust concentrations in the atmosphere will not be high.

He also said that due to the warm air mass affecting the region, temperatures are above normal for the season.

The weather forecast in detail

Weak high pressure affects the area. From noon on Saturday onwards, dust will be hovering in the atmosphere.

In the afternoon the weather will be mostly clear, but locally there will be temporarily increased cloudiness. Winds will blow southwest to northwest, weak to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be calm until a little turbulent.

Tonight the weather will be mostly clear, although locally, there will be temporarily increased cloudiness. Winds will blow northwest to northeast and locally to the north coast southeast, weak, 3 beaufort. During the early hours, locally in the eastern half of the island, sparse fog is expected to form. The sea will be calm until a little turbulent. The temperature will drop to around 11 degrees in the interior, around 12 degrees on the coast and around 8 degrees in the higher mountains.

Tomorrow the weather will be mostly clear. Winds will blow mainly northwest to northeast, weak to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be calm until a little turbulent. The temperature will rise to around 26 degrees in the interior, east and south coasts, around 23 degrees in the rest of the coast and around 19 degrees in the higher mountains.

On Saturday the weather will be mostly clear, but there will be increased medium and high clouds.

On Sunday the weather will be mostly clear.

On Monday the weather will be mostly clear, but locally, there will be temporarily increased cloudiness.

The temperature by Sunday will gradually rise significantly, to hover above the average climatic values, while on Monday it will drop slightly to hover near and slightly above the average climatic values.
