In the context of the efforts made to prevent and reduce road collisions and especially serious and fatal accidents, the Cyprus Police announces a nationwide control campaign for the use of seat belts and child seats.
According to the statistics of the three-year period 2019 – 2021, 46.2% of dead drivers and vehicle passengers did not wear a seat belt.
The campaign, which began today April 4, 2022 will run until Sunday, April 10, 2022.
The aim of the campaign, according to a police announcement, is to achieve through policing, the sensitization of drivers and car passengers to the use of seat belts in both the front and rear seats, as well as the attachment of children to child seats. The ultimate goal is to reduce serious and fatal injuries in road traffic collisions.
