The police's actions to deal with traffic violations and nuisance and juvenile delinquency continued in Limassol last night, with a coordinated operation carried out by members of the Limassol Police Directorate and in particular the Ulamos Motorcyclists of the Limassol Traffic Police. During the inspection operation, twelve motorcycles and two cars were withheld for further examinations on possible bearing modifications.
Ten persons were identified as driving vehicles without holding a driving licence, 13 persons were found to be driving vehicles without themselves being covered by an insurance certificate, while four persons were driving vehicles for which there was no valid certificate of suitability - MOT.
There were another 5 complaints from drivers who were found to be driving vehicles that did not carry a silencer in the exhaust system, causing nuisance, while six drivers were reported after driving vehicles that did not carry registration plates.
The inspection operation was conducted from midnight until 3.00 in the morning on Thursday. A total of 91 traffic offences were detected and reported. Among the various traffic offences, 44 speed limit violations were also detected and reported.
