1,459 NEW CASES, TWO DEATHS - Sunday 10 April

The Ministry of Health announces that today, April 10, 2022:

  • 2 deaths reported.  They concern: A woman, aged 74, who died on April 10 and a woman, aged 91, who died on April 10
  • Total number of deaths with a final cause of COVID-19: 977.
  • 207 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in the hospitals of the CySEC
  • 29 in serious condition (ICU: 4 out of breath/5 intubated, PPE: 20)
  • Percentage of hospitalized patients without a history of vaccination: 57.98%
  • 12 patients who have ceased to be infectious continue to be hospitalized intubated due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.

Diagnostic tests:

  • A total of 57,728 diagnostic tests were performed
  • 1,459 new cases were identified (total cases 457,423).
  • Positivity rate in total exams 2.53%

Total number of molecular tests (PCR):

  • 2,500 molecular tests were performed
  • There were 96 positive cases
  • Positivity rate 3.84%

Total number of rapid antigen tests (Rapid Test):

  • 55,228 rapid antigen tests were performed
  • There were 1,363 positive cases
  • Positivity rate 2.47%

 Tracking:

  • 1,513 molecular tests were performed and 19 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 1.26%)
  • 454 rapid antigen tests were performed and 39 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 8.59%)

Private initiative:

  • 147 molecular tests were performed, 20 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 13.61%)
  • 34,554 rapid antigen tests were performed, 795 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 2.3%)

Through the programmes of the Ministry of Health, 34,554 rapid antigen tests were carried out. 795 positive cases were identified.

  • Sampling points: 31,884 rapid detection tests identified 753 positive cases (positivity rate 2.36%)

Other

  • Nursing homes: 81 rapid antigen tests were performed, 2 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 2.47%)
  • Closed structures: 2,135 rapid antigen tests were performed, new case was identified (positivity rate of 0.05%).

From April 15, the announcement of positive diagnoses, deaths and hospitalizations will be made on a weekly basis.
