[As a number of people have asked about housing refugees, the Government has been approached also to see if they have a co-ordinated exercise underway. Their response is awaited]
The Yellow Helpline & Solidarity Line and the KEPAKY "Center for the Provision of Social Services Andreas Sofokleous", inform that they are expanding their action and their circle of assistance to Ukrainian refugees coming to Cyprus.
From the 1st moment, when this painful situation broke out, the members of KEPAKY along with the movement Help & Solidarity Yellow Line proceeded to the immediate support of the Ukrainian refugees who come to our country. The majority of them are women and children.
Our actions proceeded to 5 pillars:
• Feeding
• Housing
• Education
• Sports
• Work
To date, we have already offered more than 100 food packages to those who really need them and we continue unabated. Moreover, through targeted actions, we have also purchased vouchers for basic necessities. It is important to mention that we are also moving forward with collections of clothing and shoes.
On our own initiative, an attempt was made to find psychologists with Ukrainian or Russian as the language of communication. The purpose of the action is the psychological support to people who have had traumatic experiences. because of the war. We thank the psychologists, who showed direct interest in this move of ours.
Moreover, our action has also proceeded in the area of housing these people, where they start from absolute zero in their lives. A "bank" of information was created where property owners offer their homes and/or apartments at better prices for rent.

Another area in which we have placed particular emphasis is on the education of children. We take it for granted that this painful situation in which they live should not affect for any reason their education !!!
We undertake the support and assistance of the young children of their families, by completing and sending all the necessary documents to the competent state services
We have also created an information bank for jobs in order to help employ refugees who come to stay in Cyprus to create the best conditions for their future.

The Limassol Athletic Union has started a program of offering free sports material and at the same time, coaches from the academies of our team, in collaboration with the Municipality of Paralimni, which will grant the stadiums, will offer some moments of carefreeness to the tortured children of war, through trainings in the sports of football, volleyball and basketball. It should be noted that the majority of Ukrainian refugees live in the Free Area of Famagusta.
A similar programme is being prepared for the Limassol district.
At the same time, an effort was made with the Ministry of Interior and the services of the state that have to do with refugees and especially with children, to extend the sports and healthy occupation program to children residing in Pournaras and other structures provided by the Republic of Cyprus.
Our goal is the immediate assistance of refugees from Ukraine who live and reside in Cyprus, at all the above levels. Our guiding principle is to support them without affecting their human existence and dignity.
