Closed tonight will be lanes of the Limassol - Nicosia highway, in the area of the industrial area of Idalion, due to works in the context of the construction of the Nicosia Perimeter Motorway.
According to an announcement by the Department of Public Works, from 8 p.m. tonight, until 8 a.m. tomorrow morning, the middle and right lanes of the Limassol - Nicosia motorway will be closed, in the direction from Limassol to Nicosia, 500 metres before the exit to the Tseri bypass near the Idalion Industrial Area, in a length of about 2 km.
Traffic from Limassol to Nicosia will be conducted in the left lane to Nicosia. Alternatively, the old Nicosia - Limassol road can be used in the direction from Limassol to Nicosia, from the Kotsiati exit to the entrance of the Latsia Industrial Area. Traffic from Nicosia to Limassol will not be affected.
As mentioned in the announcement, with the completion of the works in a length of approximately 2 km, the traffic of the Nicosia - Limassol motorway in the direction from Limassol to Nicosia and from Nicosia to Limassol, will be conducted in two lanes per direction.
The traffic from the exit of the industrial Idalion to the Tseri bypass will be unhindered, while the traffic from the Tseri bypass to Nicosia via the motorway will be closed. The traffic from the Tseri bypass to Nicosia will be carried out through the old Nicosia – Limassol road from the photo-controlled junction of JCC.
The above arrangement will last for a period of about 5 months.
