Filenews 7 March 2022
Following the recent decision of the Council of Ministers on March 3, 2022, for the release of positive cases of the Covid-19 disease on the 7th day, the Ministry of Health informs that as of Tuesday, March 8, 2022, virus-positive people may be released on the 7th day, provided that they have secured a negative Rapid Antigen Test from predetermined points indicated by the Ministry of Health and do not show active symptoms.
The procedure to be followed is as follows:
- Virus-positive individuals will be informed on the 6th day of self-isolation via text message, about the predetermined point and the time they will have to come for the Rapid test on the 7th day. It is recalled that the date of laboratory diagnosis of the case is considered as day zero (the measurement starts from the next day).
- Due to the retroactive effect of the decision, the first update that will take place on Monday, March 7, 2022, will concern positive people who on March 8, 2022, will have completed not only the 7th but also the 8th or 9th day from their initial diagnosis.
- Only laboratory tests carried out at the predetermined points of the Ministry of Health will be recognized as valid for release purposes before the 10th day. (Persons who do not follow the above procedure will be able to be released automatically based on the procedure in force on the 10th day).
- If the result is negative on the 7th day, the positive case should continue its self-isolation until receiving the release message from the Ministry of Health where it will be released the next day (8th day of confinement) and they will be able to issue the disease certificate through the https://www.eudcc.gov.cy/ portal.
- It is emphasized that during the release examination, the same identification data that were declared during their registration on the platform should be declared as positive incidents (identification document, date of birth and telephone number) in order to avoid technical problems and delays in release.
- If the result is positive, the person has the option to repeat the examination procedure on the 8th or 9th day, rushing to the same point indicated by the Ministry of Health on the 6th day, or to limit it until the 10th day when he will be released without additional examination.
It is emphasized that in the area of the examination, social distancing and protection measures (double surgical mask, or protective mask type CN95 or FFP2) should be observed.
