6,494 NEW CASES, THREE DEATHS - Monday 28 March

Three deaths and 6,494 new cases of COVID-19 were announced Monday by the Ministry of Health, after 115,930 diagnostic tests in total, with the positivity rate standing at 5.6%. The total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic reached 416,514.

The 3 deaths announced concern two men aged 80 and 90 and a woman aged 77. The 90-year-old and the 77-year-old died yesterday, March 27. The total number of deaths with the final cause of COVID-19 reached 930.

According to the same announcement, 190 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in the hospitals of the CySEC, 21 of them in serious condition. In the ICU, 1 patient is hospitalized off the ventilator, 4 intubated, while in the ICU, 16 patients are hospitalized.

The percentage of hospitalized patients without a history of vaccination reaches 57.37%.  21 patients who have ceased to be infectious continue to be hospitalized intubated due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.

As announced, a total of 4,450 molecular tests were performed, 489 positive cases emerged with the positivity rate reaching 10.99%

Also, 111,480 rapid antigen detection tests were performed, 6,005 positive cases emerged, with the positivity rate reaching 5.39%.

From the tracing, 483 molecular tests were performed and 37 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 7.66%), as well as 788 rapid antigen tests and 90 positive cases were identified (positivity rate of 11.42%)

From a private initiative, 1,570 molecular tests were performed, 323 positive cases were identified (positivity rate of 20.57%), as well as 54,179 rapid antigen tests, 4,080 positive cases were identified (positivity rate of 7.53%)

Through the programs of the Ministry of Health, 57,301 rapid antigen tests were performed and 1,925 positive cases were identified.

At the sampling points, 19,172 rapid detection tests were performed and 1,283 positive cases were identified (positivity rate of 6.69%)

In Primary Education, 17,257 rapid antigen tests were performed and 212 positive cases were identified (positivity rate of 1.23%).

In Secondary Education, 10,004 rapid screening tests were performed and 105 positive cases were identified (positivity rate of 1.05%).

Through the Test-to-Stay method, 6,652 rapid antigen tests were performed and 160 positive cases were identified (positivity rate of 2.41%).

In Special Schools, 587 rapid antigen tests were performed and 8 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 1.36%)

In nursing homes, 2,055 rapid antigen tests were performed and 61 positive cases were identified (positivity rate of 2.97%). In closed structures, 349 rapid antigen tests were performed and 3 new cases were identified (positivity rate 0.86%). In Government Services, 437 rapid antigen tests were performed and 3 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.69%)
