3,782 NEW CASES - Monday 14 March

No death due to coronavirus was recorded today, according to the announcement of the Ministry of Health, while 3,782 new cases were identified.

Specifically:

  • No deaths were announced.
  • Total number of deaths with the final cause of COVID-19: 902.
  • 101 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in the hospitals of the CySEC
  • 14 in serious condition (ICU: 0 out of breath/6 intubated, PPE: 8)
  • Percentage of hospitalized patients without a history of vaccination: 57.43%
  • 22 patients who have ceased to be infectious continue to be hospitalized intubated due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.

Diagnostic tests:

  • A total of 111,926 diagnostic tests were performed
  • 3,782 new cases were identified (total cases 356,784).
  • Positivity rate in total exams 3.38%

Total number of molecular tests (PCR):

  • 3,769 molecular tests were performed
  • There were 314 positive cases
  • Positivity rate 8.33%

Total number of rapid antigen tests (Rapid Test):

  • 108,157 rapid antigen tests were performed
  • There were 3,468 positive cases
  • Positivity rate 3.21%

 Tracking:

  • 168 molecular tests were performed and 18 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 10.71%)
  • 895 rapid antigen tests were performed and 95 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 10.61%)

Private initiative:

  • 1,219 molecular tests were performed, 193 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 15.83%)
  • 50,643 rapid antigen tests were performed, 2,375 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 4.69%)

Through the programmes of the Ministry of Health, 57,514 rapid antigen tests were carried out. 1,093 positive cases were identified.

  • Sampling points: 16,678 rapid detection tests identified 701 positive cases (positivity rate 4.2%)

Education

  • Primary Education: 19,501 rapid antigen tests, 109 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.56%)
  • Secondary Education: 10,362 rapid screening tests identified 81 positive cases (positivity rate 0.78%)
  • Test-to-Stay: 4,614 rapid antigen tests were performed and 61 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 1.32%)
  • Special Schools: 850 rapid antigen tests were performed and positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.24%)

Other

  • Nursing homes: 1,400 rapid antigen tests were performed, 33 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 2.36%)
  • Closed structures: 1,733 rapid antigen tests were performed, 2 new cases were identified (positivity rate 0.12%).
  • Government Agencies: 1,250 rapid antigen tests were performed and positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.64%)
  • Industrial Areas: 231 rapid antigen tests were performed and positive case was identified (positivity rate 0.43%)
