A quantity of cannabis weighing 132 kg was found in a container at the New Port of Limassol, after an investigation of information and based on an evaluation of data and testimonies.
Specifically, the container was allegedly unloaded by a ship that arrived at the New Port of Limassol on March 3, 2022 which according to its description, contained 915 bags of feed.
On March 8, 2022, the container was transferred to a warehouse on the port where after securing a court warrant and with the cooperation of the Department of Customs, it was opened and investigated.
During the investigation, 24 pallets with a number of feed bags were found, while two pallets were found hidden in feed bags, 132 airtight nylon packages containing a quantity of cannabis weighing about 132 kilograms.
All the above were received and detained as evidence, while in the context of the investigation of the case, a testimony emerged against a 38-year-old man, who was found at around 11.30 last night driving his car on a Limassol road. He was stopped and arrested on the basis of a court warrant pending against him and taken into custody.
