More than 30 warships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet sailed from the ports of Sevastopol and Novorossiysk as part of a naval exercise, the command of the Russian fleet announced.
"More than 30 ships of the Black Sea Fleet sailed from Sevastopol and Novorossiysk as part of the exercises," the statement issued by the Russian fleet reads.
On Thursday, an additional six Russian warships arrived for naval exercises in the Black Sea, near the Crimean peninsula that Moscow annexed in 2014 from Ukraine, coming from the Mediterranean.
Russia announced last month that its Navy will conduct drills with the participation of all its fleets from the Pacific to the Atlantic, in the most recent show of force in its confrontation with the West over Ukraine.
