The Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Yiannis Karousos, and the MP for Pafos from DIKO, Chrysanthos Savvidis, had a new meeting today, in the context of the launch of meetings for the monitoring of projects related to his Ministry.
As Chrysanthos Savvidis stated, Mr. Karousos informed him about the Pafos – Polis Chrysochous road, that in the middle of July, the bulldozers will officially enter, in order to start the works.
"Regarding the section of the road near Drousia," he said, "I was informed that the project is in the process of tendering for its southern part, which will be the first phase of the project.
As far as the Nata road is concerned, 25 February 2022 is the last date for the submission of tenders, as their evaluation will follow and it is expected that the project will start in June 2022 and will be completed at the end of 2022."
Finally, regarding the problem faced by the community of Kouklia, with the abandoned buildings belonging to the Department of Antiquities, the Pafos MP of DIKO pointed out that it was agreed with the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works that the repair of these buildings will proceed. The Department of Antiquities, in collaboration with the Department of Public Works, will undertake the tender process for the restoration of the buildings, so that along with the redevelopment of the village square, which is expected to begin in September 2022, this project will proceed, he concluded.
