1,826 NEW CASES, 7 DEATHS - Friday 25 February

The Ministry of Health announces that there have been 7 deaths from Covid in the last three days:

  • They concern:
    • Man, aged 54, who died on February 23
    • Man, aged 75, who died on February 24
    • Woman, aged 92, who died on February 24
    • Man, aged 95, who died on February 24
    • Man, aged 88, who died on February 25
    • Woman, aged 94, who died on February 25
    • Woman, aged 78, who died on February 25
  • Total number of deaths with a final cause of COVID-19: 848.
  • 155 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in the hospitals of the CySEC
  • 34 in serious condition (ICU: 2 out of the ventilator/13 intubated, PPE: 19)
  • Percentage of hospitalized patients without a history of vaccination: 60.65%
  • 24 patients who have ceased to be infectious continue to be hospitalized intubated due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.

Diagnostic tests:

  • A total of 113,253 diagnostic tests were performed
  • 1,826 new cases were identified (total cases 317,167).
  • Positivity rate in total exams 1.61%

Total number of molecular tests (PCR):

  • 6,317 molecular tests were performed
  • 266 positive cases occurred
  • Positivity rate 4.21%

Total number of rapid antigen tests (Rapid Test):

  • 106,936 rapid antigen tests were performed
  • There were 1,560 positive cases
  • Positivity rate 1.46%

 Tracking:

  • 385 molecular tests were performed and 38 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 9.87%)
  • 688 rapid antigen tests were performed and 51 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 7.41%)

Private initiative:

  • 1,604 molecular tests were performed, 176 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 10.97%)
  • 48,604 rapid antigen tests were performed, 949 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 1.95%)

Through the health ministry's programs, 58,332 rapid antigen tests were performed. 611 positive cases were identified.

  • Sampling points: 18,349 rapid detection tests identified 358 positive cases (positivity rate 1.95%)

Education

  • Primary Education: 21,058 rapid antigen tests, 72 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.34%)
  • Secondary Education: 11,256 rapid screening tests identified 63 positive cases (positivity rate 0.56%)
  • Test-to-Stay: 4,301 rapid antigen tests were performed and 42 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.98%)
  • Special Schools: 176 rapid antigen tests were performed and positive case was identified (positivity rate 0.57%)

Other

  • National Guard: 234 rapid antigen tests were performed and positive cases identified (positivity rate 0.85%)
  • Nursing homes: 983 rapid antigen tests were performed, 19 positive cases identified (positivity rate 1.93%)
  • Closed structures: 198 rapid antigen tests were performed; new case was identified (positivity rate 0.51%).
  • Government Services: 986 rapid antigen tests were performed and positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.2%)
  • Industrial Areas: 103 rapid antigen tests were performed and no positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0%)
