Snowfall may be the everyday life of the residents of the Troodos region and our other mountainous areas at high altitude, but it is certainly not the most common sight in the semi-mountainous and low areas.
That is why at 6.00 in the afternoon today, the residents of the area around the Monastery of Agios Neophytos, Tala and Leptos Kamares Village were surprised to see that the noise suddenly heard was not due to rain, not even hail. It was snow that suddenly began to fall on this cold night, creating a feeling and an image, if not unique, at least rarely for a peri-urban area at a low altitude.
For several minutes snowflakes fell with intensity from the sky. And of course the quantity and duration of the phenomenon may not have been enough for it to settle, but for the time that the snowfall lasted, the residents of the area were able to enjoy their spaces and the road to be painted with white.
