Regarding the decision of the Council of Ministers to reduce the period of self-isolation from 14 to 10 days, for those people who are close contacts of a confirmed positive case of COVID-19 and according to the protocol are obliged to self-isolate, the Ministry of Health clarifies that:
a) The decision enters into force on 24 January 2022 and persons already in confinement as close contacts will be able to be released after the 10th day. Release earlier than 10 days can be done with a laboratory PCR test with a negative result on the 7th day of contact, or later at their own expense.
It is recalled that, according to the management protocol for close contacts of a confirmed positive case of COVID19, the following are required to self-limit:
- people who do not have a history of vaccination,
- people who have completed their vaccination program and the period of 7 months has elapsed,
- people who have not completed their vaccination program (of two-dose vaccines)
- people who became ill and the period of 90 days has passed.
