An orange warning due to prolonged and temporarily heavy rainfall was issued by the Meteorological Service with effect until 10 a.m., Tuesday, January 11. In its announcement, the Meteorological Service states that "a combination of locally prolonged and temporarily heavy rains is expected to continue to affect the region intermittently while total rainfall locally is likely to range between 85 and 110 millimetres a day."

Road network
Only for vehicles with four-wheel drive and/or equipped with anti-skid chains remain due to slippery slope from the snowfall that occurred in Troodos, the roads Karvounas-Troodos, Platres-Troodos and Prodromos-Platres, Prodromos-Troodos, Kakopetrias-Pinewood, Pedoulas-Pinewood and Pedoulas-Prodromos.
In the wider area of Troodos, dense fog prevails, resulting in limited visibility.
Landslides of blocks of stones and rocks have occurred at various points on the roads of Oras – Akapnou, Oras – Melinis, Melinis – Odos and Odos – Farmaka, while landslides have occurred on the road kalo Chorio – Gourgiou.
Torrential rain and hail are occurring on the Paphos-Limassol highway, while torrential rain was also noted on the Limassol-Nicosia highway, resulting in slippery road surface and limited visibility. Visibility is limited due to torrential rains and at the junction of the Nicosia-Larnaca motorway with the Nicosia-Limassol highway.
Rainfall occurs in all provinces. The Police recommends special attention to those moving on the road network, while vehicle drivers are urged to move at a safe, low speed, maintain a safe distance from vehicles in front of them, have the headlights of their vehicle on and give priority to other passing drivers where needed.

Today Monday, the weather will be mostly cloudy with rain in several areas and isolated thunderstorms. On the highest peaks of Troodos, at times snow or sleet will fall. Locally the phenomena are likely to be prolonged or even intense. The temperature will rise to 16 degrees in the interior, around 17 degrees on the coast and 6 degrees in the higher mountains.
Tonight, the weather will remain mostly cloudy with rain in several areas and thunderstorms. On the highest peaks of Troodos, at times snow or sleet will fall. Locally the phenomena are likely to be prolonged or even intense. The temperature will drop to 10 degrees in the interior, around 13 degrees on the coast and to 1 degree in the higher mountains, where frost is expected to form.
On Tuesday, the weather will initially be mostly cloudy with rain in several areas and isolated thunderstorms. On the highest peaks of Troodos, at times snow or sleet will fall. After noon, a marked improvement in the weather is expected. The temperature is not expected to change significantly while remaining close to the average climatic values.
On Wednesday, the weather will be mostly cloudy and local rain and isolated thunderstorms are expected. The temperature is not expected to change significantly while remaining close to the average climatic values.
On Thursday, the weather will be mostly cloudy and local rain and isolated thunderstorms are expected. The temperature is expected to drop slightly.
