On the Nicosia-Limassol highway, from Wednesday, April 14, 2021, improvement works will be carried out at the Kornos junction. The works will last 15 months and concern on the one hand the improvement of the existing branches of the junction on the west side of the highway, for entry on the highway from Korno / Pyrga to Nicosia and for exit from Limassol to Korno / Pyrga, and on the other hand the creation of a new entrance side, from Korno / Pyrga to Limassol.
Also on the Nicosia-Limassol highway, in the period 3 to 28 January 2021, from 07:00 to 15:00, every day except weekends and holidays, replacement works of battered safety railings will be carried out. During the works, it will be partially closed in a length of 500m. approximately the right-hand lane, in both directions and the traffic will be diverted to the left-hand lane. In Nicosia, from Monday, January 3, 2022 until Sunday, January 16, 2022, Digeni Akrita Avenue will be closed from its junction with Androkleous Street until its junction with Nikodimou Mylonas Street, to continue the work of strengthening the existing rainwater drain. Drivers are kindly requested to use the detour through Androkleous - Pindarou and Eugenia Theodotou streets in the direction of Pallouriotissa. For the direction to the Lycabettus Police, drivers are kindly requested to use Nikodimou Mylonas and Kallipoleos streets. Also in Nicosia, on Themistokli Dervi Street, on Wednesday 12/1/2022 and Thursday 13/1/2022, between the hours of 06:00 -15: 00, works will be carried out for the construction of an apartment building. During the works, the two lanes of traffic on Themistoklis Dervi Street in the direction of the traffic lights Gavriilidis to Nicosia, between the lanes Nikokreontos and Tefkrou, will be closed and the traffic will be channelled in one lane in the opposite direction. On the old Nicosia-Limassol road, in the context of the construction works of Phase 1 of the road network of the Vasilikos Energy Centre, in the period 24/10/2021 - 23/4/2022, the eastern road that connects the road with the port of Vasilikos will be closed to traffic. During the works, the traffic traffic to and from Vasiliko will be channelled to the respective west road, through Marie, except for vehicles and pedestrians that will move from and to temporary properties for which the appropriate arrangements will be made. Works on the old road Nicosia-Limassol, will be carried out in the period 3/1/2022 - 31/3/2022, daily except Sundays and holidays, between the hours of 07:00 - 16:00, for the construction of water pipes by the Department Water Development. During the works, part of a traffic lane, the old road Nicosia - Limassol, from the 'Pig Reservoir' to the WFD pumping station in Kofinou, in the direction of Kofinou, will be partially closed in a length of about 100 meters (total length 2500 meters, approximately) and the traffic will take place in the adjacent traffic lane with the use of temporary traffic lights.
