In detail the weather report:

The barometric low, called CARMEL, will affect the area until the afternoon. Then a weak high pressure is expected.

Today Monday the weather will initially be mostly cloudy with local rain, isolated thunderstorms and snow expected intermittently in the higher mountains. Gradually by the afternoon the phenomena subside. Winds will blow southwest to west, moderate to strong 4 to 5 Beaufort to soon become westerly to northwest, moderate to strong 4 to 5 Beaufort and transient to the coast, up to very strong 6 Beaufort. The sea will be  wavy. The temperature will rise to around 15 degrees in the interior and the coast and to 3 degrees in the higher mountains.

On Monday night the weather will be partly cloudy and it is possible that in some areas isolated rains will fall, while in the higher mountains it is not excluded that sleet will fall. The sea will be undulating on the west and north coasts and turbulent on the east and south. The temperature will drop to around 6 degrees in the interior, around 9 degrees on the coast and around 0 degrees in the higher mountains, where locally there could be frost.

On Tuesday, the weather will be partly cloudy and isolated rains are likely to fall in some areas, while snow or sleet are likely to fall in the higher mountains.

On Wednesday and Thursday the weather will be mostly clear but temporarily there will be increased cloudiness.

The temperature will fluctuate at the same levels, which are close to the climatic averages.

The height of the snow in Troodos Square, at the time of issue of the bulletin, was 10 cm.

Snowfall continues in Troodos

Light snowfall is noted intermittently in Troodos, where there is dense fog and heavy rainfall in some areas. Heavy rainfall occurs in the city and district of Limassol.

According to the police, the height of the snow in the snowshoe has risen to five centimetres. Due to the snowfall, the roads Troodos – Prodromos, Platres – Troodos and Karvounias – Troodos, are open only for vehicles with 4-wheel drive or equipped with anti-skid chains.

The rest of the roads, although open, are slippery and drivers are urged to be particularly careful, as due to fog, which prevails in several mountainous areas, visibility is reduced. As far as the road network is concerned, a police statement states that due to the fall of volumes of soil and stones on the roadway, the road Paramali – Episkopi, has become dangerous.

There is also continuous rainfall that has been recorded since the day before yesterday in the city and the district of Limassol. In many cases they are particularly intense, but without caused so far, any serious problems or damages. However, the competent services remain alert to deal with any problems.
