The Mediterranean Educational Group in collaboration with the Troodos Network aspire to create a leading, innovative, student-centred educational system in the Troodos region, with a strong focus on innovation, teaching, research and contribution to society.
As an integrated private education institution dedicated to the creation and dissemination of knowledge, Insider's goal is reportedly to empower students from different backgrounds by providing comprehensive educational experiences, from the professional and undergraduate to doctoral levels, in and out of the classroom.
In fact, within the framework of Corporate Social Responsibility, they will give the right to children who do not have the financial capacity for professional and / or academic education and the opportunity to hotel and food businesses to draw trained staff from their students and graduates, actively contributing to the Sustainable Development and Social Cohesion of the entire Troodos region.
The "Troodos Hotel Academy" is the first step towards the implementation of the wider educational development project in the Troodos region.
The establishment of the Academy aims at:
- To meet the human resources needs of hotel and food businesses in the Troodos region with young trained professionals of the sector
-To offer the right to education and training to existing professionals in the sector
-To offer consulting services to hotel and food businesses in the region on issues of operation, upgrading and development, quality of services, productivity and performance.
- To undertake management contracts (management) of hotel and food businesses
-To contribute more widely to the development of the tourism industry in Troodos
-The Academy has secured all licenses (KEK / DEC / KAEP) from the Human Resource Development Authority (HRDA)
The management of the Academy will be located in Pano Platres and the training will take place in buildings in the communities: Kato and Pano Platres, in Pedoula and Galata.
The single-company training programmes can be implemented in appropriate areas of the enterprise itself.
The Mediterranean is connected to the leading universities of hotel studies Les Roches and Glion of the Sommet Educational Organization of Switzerland. All hotel programs (of all levels) are implemented on the basis of the Swiss model of study and courses of study leading to a degree from Swiss universities will be offered.
There will be a professional certification (Standard Professional Qualifications HRDA - ROP) and scholarships "I study and work" in the following professions:
-Waiter
-Bartender
-Maid
-Receptionist
-Cook's Assistant
-Assistant Confectioner
It will be of a one-year duration (the first programs start from February 2022 to January 2023) in cooperation with contracting hotel and food enterprises Troodos.
The trainees will be from Cyprus, Greece and other European countries, while priority will be given to residents of the Troodos region.
The courses will be held on three days a week, two weekdays which will be the decision of the trainee and one more daily from 08:00 a.m. to 01:00 p.m. (or in some cases from 02:00 p.m. to 07:00 p.m.) and there will be a five-day internship for the employer offering the scholarship.
Scholarships "I study and work"
The scholarships are offered by employers and include:
-Tuition fees of €3,600 (monthly instalments of €300 x 12 months)
-Monthly Allowance (net salary minus the monthly tuition instalment)
-Accommodation in apartments/residences of employers
- Nutrition during the hours of practical training in the businesses of employers u Health Care (GHS)
The companies participating in the program
The Academy's pilot program will start in Pano Platres in February 2022 in collaboration with the Forest Park Hotel which is certified by the HRDA. The implementation of the programs will be based on the Swiss model of education in mountain hotels and resorts. The aim is for the same programme to be implemented in the other areas of Troodos, such as: Solia, Pitsilia and Marathasa
