THE BODIES OF THE TWO RUSSIAN WOMEN FOUND [updated]

Filenews 5 December 2021 - by Ioanna Mantzipa

The 32-year-old Syrian, who was arrested and considered the number one suspect, succumbed in  interrogation and confessed to the murder of two women from Russia, who had disappeared since November 17,

After admitting that he murdered both the 43-year-old and the 33-year-old, he indicated the exact spot that he buried them at the house in Kato Amiantos. The forensic experts rushed to the spot.

In their presence, the bodies of the two Russian women will be recovered. The arrival of the Chief of Police is also expected.

In the courtyard of the house

At the first light of day members of the Force went to the country house to locate the bodies of the two women.

The members of the Police located at dawn on Sunday the bodies of the two Russian women, buried in a spot in the courtyard of the country house, following the instructions of the perpetrator.

In relation to the 23-year-old wanted man, who was arrested yesterday by members of the Limassol Police, the interrogated party denied involvement in the case, while he said that he does not know the two Russian women.

It should be noted that within the day he is expected to be released in connection with the planned murder. However, he will be re-arrested by the IOC of Limassol with a court warrant, for offences committed in Limassol and related to cases of thefts and burglaries.

The Chief of Police Stelios Papatheodorou also arrived at the area to state the following:

Unfortunately, the fears and suspicions of the Police have been confirmed that this was a crime against the two victims. The case seems to be getting an end to it with its elucidation. The suspect has assisted in the discovery of the two bodies, with a relevant indication of the place that has buried the two girls and I want to stress that the telecommunications data that has been received has helped the investigators very much.

According to his allegation he acted alone in committing the offence. According to him, he has shot them with the shotgun, and we believe that today he is telling the truth and making a wilful statement.

What "bent" him in the interrogation

The contradictions in which he fell, which also contradicted the facts, with the telecommunications data, and of course the thorough interrogation that took place in Larnaca, mentioned Mr. Papatheodorou.

Asked to answer why there was a delay in locating the two bodies, the Chief said that the Police had used all available means in the previous days, in order to locate the two Russian women, "but if you see the ground, the depth and the surface of the ground, you will find that it would be impossible to find them without the indication of the perpetrator."

When asked if the murder took place on November 17, the Chief replied: "According to him, yes."
