Global promotion of Cyprus and expectations for winter tourists cause important sporting events planned for 2022 in our country. In the new year and specifically next November, the European Tour golf tournament returns to Cyprus, which has now been renamed DP World Tour, while in the same month the L' Etape by Tour de France cycling race will take place for the first time in our country, which is the route of the organizer of the Tour de France (Cycling Tour de France), by Amaury Sport Organization (A.S.O.). The host of both these sporting events, which are expected to receive worldwide visibility to tens of millions of viewers and subscribers, is Aphrodite Hills Resort.
The Deputy Ministry of Tourism recorded in a post on Social Media these events, since it considers that these are important actions and contribute to the establishment of our country as a year-round destination.
For the major sporting events planned for next year in our country, the Deputy Ministry says that in 2022 Cyprus welcomes for the first time the internationally renowned L'Etape by Tour de France. The race, it is mentioned, is addressed to amateur cyclists who wish to experience the legendary Tour de France, the most famous cycling race in the world and informs that L'Etape Cyprus will take place on 12-13 November 2022.
He also notes that, after last year's success of the European Tour, the event returns to Cyprus on 3 - 6 November 2022, under the name DP World Tour. The global golf tournament, the secretary of state says, will be held in the presence of spectators, while children under 11 will benefit from free admission in an effort to cultivate love for the sport of golf.
