Messages that the major project of the completion of the Paphos airport - tourist area road, will be released from environmental objections and difficulties, receive according to cross-referenced information of "F" from the end of last week. It seems that the changes in the design, so that the route is outside the Natura area promoted by the Paphos BCCI, are now finding a positive response in the competent state departments, resulting in the creation of a cautious optimism for the future.
This information estimates that the only influence in the Natura area, following these changes, will be a small part of the river, which is estimated to have contributed to the change of attitude of the competent state bodies in recent times. Already, the consultant who has authorized the Paphos Chamber of Commerce and Industry has been assigned to proceed with contacts with the Department of Environment.
"If and when there will be an approval, then we will proceed to mature the project. The Ministry has approved the new proposal prepared by the Paphos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, it will be presented to the Department of Environment preliminarily and if the approvals are given, they will proceed with the design and implementation of the project''.
