NEW MEASURES AGAINST CORONAVIRUS IN FORCE FROM TODAY

The new measures, which were decided by the Council of Ministers last Thursday, December 2nd, aimed at limiting the spread of the coronavirus in Cyprus, enter into force as of today. According to the announcements of the Minister of Health, Michalis Chatzipandelas, among others, as of today, passengers arriving in Cyprus will be subjected to a mandatory PCR test.

Specifically, from 6 December to 10 January 2022, all passengers entering the Republic of Cyprus without exception from airports will be subject to a mandatory PCR check. The cost of €15 will be borne by the passenger himself.

Also from today until December 31, 2021, teleworking is in force for 20% of the staff of each company or organization in the service sector, excluding essential services, as defined in the decree.

Even until February 28, 2022, all presentations of reservists and national guardsmen are suspended.

Christmas or other events inside and outside shopping centres are also suspended, while for any other events that will be held by Municipalities, communities and places of religious worship, the organization will be allowed under the responsibility of the local authorities and organizers for the observance of health protocols and the decree.

Finally, it is recommended that no school excursions be conducted by private individuals.
