In a village in the Pafos district [Mouttalos] outside the home of a 44-year-old man, the vehicle was found, which according to witnesses was involved in the fatal traffic collision on the evening of December 19th, with the owner carrying out repair work.
The Police proceeded to arrest the 44-year-old, for facilitating the interrogation of an investigated case of a fatal road collision and the abandonment of a road collision scene, which occurred on the evening of December 19, 2021.
The vehicle was picked up and transported to the Pafos Police Department, to be subjected to scientific examinations. A judicial arrest warrant was obtained against the 44-year-old, under which he was arrested and taken into custody.
The road collision occurred around 9.15pm. on December 19th, on Priam Street in Paphos, with Androula Papachristoforou, 60, from Paphos, as the victim. According to the evidence under investigation, the 60-year-old was allegedly swept away by a car while on foot on the above road. After the car accident, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene of the car accident, leaving the 60-year-old helpless.
The 60-year-old was transported by ambulance to Paphos General Hospital, where around 11.30pm. succumbed to her injuries.
The Pafos Traffic Police continues the examinations.
