Filenews 11 November 2021
Without expecting rain, the drop in temperature will be noticeable today, said the director of the Meteorological Service, Kleanthis Nikolaidis.
Speaking on state radio, he explained that today the strong winds will hit areas mainly in occupied Cyprus, Kyrenia and Pentadaktylos. High-intensity winds, he added, will also hit mountainous areas in free Cyprus.
Due to the strong winds yesterday, there were many problems in the EAC's power grid, which although they continued during the night, have been restored. The agency's spokeswoman, Christina Papadopoulou, said that the Authority's crews had to contribute to the removal of tree branches.
Most of the problems were recorded yesterday in the capital, from where the Fire Department received the most calls for help. As a result of the bad weather, there was material damage to vehicles and equipment, but no injuries were recorded.
