Following the decisions of the Council of Ministers on vaccination with a booster dose of a vaccine against COVID-19, the following are noted:
1. Persons who received the Johnson&Johnson vaccine:
§ The booster dose is given to people who have completed six months from the initial vaccination.
§ For the booster dose, a vaccine of Johnson&Johnson or mRNA technology (Pfizer/BioNTech or Moderna) is administered.
§ The booster dose is given to people aged 50 years and older.
§ Beneficiaries may be vaccinated at the walk-in vaccination centres operating in all provinces, without prior appointment arrangement.
2. People with diabetes:
§ The booster dose is given to people who have completed six months from the initial vaccination.
§ For the booster dose, a mRNA technology vaccine (Pfizer/BioNTech or Moderna) is administered. It is clarified that people who received the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine in the original vaccination will receive the same vaccine at the booster dose, respectively those who received Moderna's vaccine in the original vaccination will receive a booster dose with the same vaccine. People vaccinated with AstraZeneca in the original vaccination will have a choice between the Pfizer/BioNTech or Moderna vaccine.
§ The booster dose is given to people with diabetes aged 18 years and older.
§ The administration of the booster dose is done:
̈ after arranging an appointment through the Vaccination Portal for GHS beneficiaries. The Vaccination Portal is already available for beneficiaries, either
̈ without prior arrangement of an appointment at the free-to-go vaccination centres operating in all provinces. GhS beneficiaries can be served in the walk-in centres from Monday to Thursday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Every Friday, the walk-in centres can also serve non-beneficiaries/ non-registered ghsy enrollees.
̈ For vaccinations in walk-ins, beneficiaries must provide data confirming the specific diagnosis (certificate from a attending physician, GHS prescription, etc.).
3. People aged 50 years and over (vaccinated with Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca):
§ The booster dose is given to people who have completed six months from the initial vaccination.
§ For the booster dose, a mRNA technology vaccine (Pfizer/BioNTech or Moderna) is administered. It is clarified that people who received the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine in the original vaccination will receive the same vaccine at the booster dose, respectively those who received Moderna's vaccine in the original vaccination will receive a booster dose with the same vaccine. People vaccinated with AstraZeneca will have a choice between the Pfizer/BioNTech or Moderna vaccine.

It is reminded that all beneficiaries who fall under the above groups, must necessarily present their Vaccination Card and proof of identification (ID card, passport, Alien Registration Card, etc.).
In relation to the vaccination with a booster dose of people with severe obesity, a relevant announcement will be issued in the coming days.
