No deaths of patients with a final cause of death were recorded, and therefore the total number of deaths remains 575, according to an announcement by the Ministry of Health.

-       73 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, of which 27 are in serious condition. 66.67% of hospitalized patients have no history of vaccination.

-      1 post-COVID patient who have ceased to be infectious (declassified cases), continue to be hospitalized intubated in a serious condition due to COVID in Intensive Care Units.

-      227 (positivity rate: 0.40%) new cases of COVID-19 were identified out of 56,230 molecular tests (PCR) and antigen rapid tests, bringing the total number of cases to 125,640.

Today's results are detailed.

A. Deaths from COVID-19:

No deaths of COVID-19 patients were recorded. Therefore, the total number of deaths with a final cause of COVID-19 remains 575, of which:

- 367 men (64%), and

- 208 women (36%).

The average age of those voted by the disease is 76.1 years.

B. Hospitalized:

In total, 73 patients of covid-19 are hospitalized in the hospitals of the CySEC, of which 27 are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.

Of the 27 patients who are in serious condition, eight are intubated, two are hospitalized in an off-ventilator Intensive Care Unit and 17 in an Increased Care Unit.

C. Positive cases of COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):

Of the 56,230 diagnoses made, 4,827 were made by the molecular method (PCR) and 51,403 by the antigen rapid test method, 227 cases of COVID-19 were identified, resulting as follows:

  • 59 cases from 883 samples taken through the process of contact tracing of already confirmed cases.
  • 1 case from 2,002 samples taken in the context of passenger screening at Larnaka and Paphos Airports.
  • 27 cases from 1,510 samples taken through a private initiative.
  • 10 cases from 224 samples taken from the Microbiology Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
  • 2 cases from 208 samples taken in the framework of the referral program by Personal Physicians and control of special teams through the Public Health Clinics.
  • 80 cases from 30,453 samples tested by the antigen rapid test in private clinical laboratories and pharmacies.
  • 48 cases from 20,950 samples tested by the antigen rapid test method through the Ministry of Health's programme.
