Another 949 vaccinations were made yesterday during the largest walk-in held at the Lanitio Sports Centre on the initiative of the President of the Limassol School Tax Office, Dinos Ellinos and the pulmonologist Dr. Harry Armeftis, under the auspices of the Minister of Health.

The percentage of fully vaccinated citizens is close to the coveted target of the epidemiological team, reaching 78.9%, and with the ministry hoping that very soon we will have reached the target of 82%.

Several citizens seized the opportunity yesterday and through the initiative rushed to be vaccinated mainly with the third dose of vaccine. During yesterday's day, the first lady, Andri Anastasiades, and the 90-year-old grandfather of the Minister of Health, Mr. Andreas Nathanael, received the third dose.

In his statements, Mr. Chatzipandelas expressed his joy for this effort to the organizers of the event, stressing that through this initiative, people were given the opportunity to be vaccinated without any hassle. "When there is an initiative in our country, there are volunteers who offer and these messages shield the Ministry of Health to bring better days in the field of health"

On her part, the general director of the ministry, Christina Giannaki, expressed her own thanks to the organizers, noting that the fully vaccinated are now at the rate of 78.9%. The goal, he said, is for vaccination coverage to reach 82%, while from the walk-in centres so far, there have been 84,000 vaccinations.

Among the people vaccinated was the minister's 90-year-old grandfather, who even praised his grandson's work. Mr. Andrew Nathaniel said he is well, praising God. Asked if his fact is a good minister, he said that "if he was good he wouldn't take the position", while advising him to do people well. The third dose of the vaccine was put out of the hands of Mrs. Yiannaki and the first lady, Andri Anastasiades.
