"The world has gone mad" wrote in an outrageous post on his personal Facebook account, the mayor of Latsia, Christos Pittaras.
Mr. Pittaras in his post describes an incredible incident, which occurred last Tuesday, when a female permanent resident of Latsia, called the Town Hall to complain that "strangers" threw useless objects in a field opposite her house.
Dumbfounded was the inspector of cleanliness who went to examine the case when he found in the discarded items a proof of payment with the name of the complainer!
The citizen, as unbelievable as it sounds, threw the garbage herself and called the town hall to collect it, supposedly saying that someone else threw it there.
Finally the woman paid a fine of €200 and removed the items herself.
