The baton of Queen's Baton Relay passed through the Underwater Sculpture Museum "MUSAN" and the Municipal Museum "Thalassa". In two important points of reference of Ayia Napa such as the Underwater Sculpture Museum "MUSAN" and the Municipal Museum "Thalassa" recently passed the baton of "Queen's BatonRelay", which began on October 7th. The journey of 294 days until the start of the Commonwealth Games "Birmingham 2022", in 72 states and regions of the Commonwealth, with our country as the first stop, conveying the message of Queen Elizabeth II to the peoples of the Commonwealth and at the same time each country its own message for brotherhood, peace, solidarity within the framework of the athletic spirit.
The baton was transferred by underwater diving to "MUSAN" and by running to the Museum "Thalassa", our two champions in swimming Maria Papadopoulou and Iakovos Hadjikonstantis, who were accompanied by representatives of the Cyprus Committee of the Commonwealth Games (KEKA) and the Unhcr of Great Britain in Cyprus and whom he welcomed on behalf of the Mayor of Ayia Napa Christos Zannettos, The Municipal Secretary of the Municipality Fotos Kikilos.
Mr. Kikilos expressed to the organizers the thanksgiving and heartfelt thanks of both him personally and the Mayor and the Members of the City Council who have included in such an important event two very important points of reference of Ayia Napa, which will be projected through video recording in all 72 countries of the Commonwealth with multiple benefits both for our city and for our country in general.
