An increase in imported coronavirus cases has been observed in recent days in Cyprus.
In statements to state radio, the head of the Ministry of Health's tracing team, Valentinos Silvestros, said that a large number of cases have been detected on ships and planes in the past two weeks. As Mr. Silvestros said, fifteen cases were detected on board ships in one day, while seventeen travellers tested positive for the coronavirus at airports in Cyprus.
As far as public schools are concerned, he pointed out that there are reduced cases of infection, thanks to the implementation of health protocols, as well as the early detection of cases. The head of the tracing team again advised all citizens to observe the protection measures against the coronavirus and not to be complacent.
