An earthquake of 3.3 on the Richter scale, centred in the Gerasa area, 15 km northwest of Limassol, occurred just before 8:00 a.m. today, according to an announcement by the Geological Survey Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment.
According to the Geological Survey Department, the earthquake was slightly felt in the Limassol district and was detected in the districts of Paphos and Nicosia.
The phenomenon is monitored by the Seismological Center of the Geological Survey Department and the relevant information (seismic parameters, interactive maps, etc.) is published on the websites of the Geological Survey Department www.gsd-seismology.org.cy and http://www.moa.gov.cy/gsd also on the Twitter account of the Department of @CY_earthquakes.
