Filenews 15 October 2021
Uproar has been caused in Britain following the announcement by the country's health authorities that a laboratory gave the wrong results to over 40,000 coronavirus tests.
It is estimated that about 43,000 citizens received the wrong result from this laboratory, which suspended its operation.
Incorrect negative result
Investigations are ongoing for the exact cause, but the NHS Test and Trace estimates that about 400,000 samples have been tested through the laboratory.
The vast majority of these would be negative results, but it is estimated that 43,000 people have received incorrect negative results from PCR tests between 8 September and 12 October, mainly in the south-west of England.
