One person died of COVID-19 on Saturday, bringing the total number of deaths to 568. As announced by the Ministry of Health, 97 new cases of COVID-19 have been identified by molecular tests (PCR) and antigen rapid tests, bringing the total number of cases to 123,268. The positivity rate is 0.21%. According to an announcement, 63 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, of which 22 are in serious condition. 60.66% of hospitalized patients have no history of vaccination.
Also, 3 post-COVID patients who have ceased to be infectious (declassified cases), continue to be hospitalized intubated in a serious condition due to COVID in Intensive Care Units.
A total of 45,556 tests have been performed to detect the disease using the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid test.
The one person who died with the final cause of death attributed to COVID-19, concerns a woman, aged 83, who ended up on October 22nd at the Limassol General Hospital.
As a result, the total number of deaths with a final cause of COVID-19 is 568, of which 361 are men (64%) and 207 are women (36%). The average age of those voted by the disease is 76.2 years.
In total, 63 covid-19 patients are hospitalized in the hospitals of the CySEC, of which 22 are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.
A. Deaths from COVID-19:
The one person who died with the final cause of death attributed to COVID-19, concerns:

B. Hospitalized:

Of the 22 patients who are in serious condition, nine are intubated, two are hospitalized in an off-ventilator Intensive Care Unit and 11 in an Increased Care Unit.

C. Positive cases of COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):
Of the 45,556 diagnoses performed, 4,314 were made by the molecular method (PCR) and 41,242 by the antigen rapid test method, 97 cases of COVID-19 were identified, resulting as follows:
- 2 cases from 102 samples taken through the process of contact tracing of already confirmed cases.
- 2 cases from 2,191 samples taken in the context of passenger screening at Larnaka and Paphos Airports.
- 17 cases from 1,861 samples taken through private initiative.
- 1 case from 142 samples taken from the Microbiology Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
- 50 cases from 31,197 samples tested by the antigen rapid test in private clinical laboratories and pharmacies.
- 25 cases from 10,045 samples tested by the antigen rapid test method through the Ministry of Health's programme.
In addition, the following tests were carried out, without the detection of a case:
- 18 samples taken in the framework of the referral program by Personal Physicians and control of special teams through the Public Health Clinics.
