A total of 166 new cases of COVID-19 were identified today, according to the Ministry of Health.
No deaths of patients with a final cause of death were recorded, and therefore the total number of deaths remains 559.
60 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, of which 23 are in serious condition. 60.94% of hospitalized patients have no history of vaccination.
10 post-COVID patients who have ceased to be infectious (declassified cases), continue to be hospitalized intubated in a serious condition due to COVID in Intensive Care Units.
A total of 53,275 tests have been performed to detect the disease using the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid test.
166 (positivity rate: 0.31%) new cases of COVID-19 were identified by molecular tests (PCR) and antigen rapid tests, bringing the total number of cases to 121,700.
A. Deaths from COVID-19:
No deaths of COVID-19 patients were recorded. As a result, the total number of deaths with covid-19 as the ultimate cause remains 559, of which 354 are men (63%), and 205 are women (37%).
The average age of those voted by the disease is 76.2 years.
B. Hospitalized:
In total, 60 covid-19 patients are hospitalized in the hospitals of the CySEC, of which 23 are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.
Of the 23 patients who are in serious condition, 10 are intubated, one is hospitalized in an Off-Ventilator Intensive Care Unit and 12 in an Increased Care Unit.

C. Positive cases of COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):
Of the 53,275 diagnoses performed, 4,533 were made by the molecular method (PCR) and 48,742 by the antigen rapid test, 166 cases of COVID-19 were identified, resulting as follows:
- 18 cases from 281 samples taken through the process of contact tracing of already confirmed cases.
- 13 cases from 2,114 samples taken in the context of passenger screening at Larnaka and Paphos Airports.
- 42 cases from 1,563 samples taken through private initiative.
- 3 cases from 227 samples taken from the Microbiology Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
- 69 cases from 29,567 samples tested by the antigen rapid test in private clinical laboratories and pharmacies.
- 21 cases from 19,175 samples tested by the antigen rapid test method through the Ministry of Health's programme.
In addition, the following tests were carried out, without the detection of a case:
- 348 samples taken in the framework of the referral program by Personal Physicians and control of special teams through the Public Health Clinics.

113 new cases in the occupied territories
A total of 113 new coronavirus cases were identified in the occupied territories after 19628 tests were carried out. As transmitted from the occupied territories, the "ministry of health" announced that in the last 24 hours 19628 tests were carried out and 113 cases were detected. Four came from abroad, 12 are contacts of confirmed cases and 97 are infections in the community.
Regarding the cases identified in the community, 34 are from occupied Nicosia, 32 were found in Kyrenia, 17 in Famagusta, 11 in Morfou and 3 in Lefka.
The total number of coronavirus cases in the occupied territories is 20476.
