The turnout of citizens aged 83 and over at the free-attendance vaccination centres for vaccination with the booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine continued today at a fairly satisfactory pace. The massive turnout of citizens at the Vaccination Centres is of crucial importance at this time, when all the actions of the Ministry of Health are focused on shielding the population in view of winter and seasonal infections that will be present with COVID-19.
Specifically, today, 1,706 vaccinations were carried out in the walk-in centres of all provinces, while the vaccination of health professionals of the CySEC, private health professionals, as well as residents and workers in nursing homes continued. At the same time, the arrangement of appointments for people who fall under the vulnerable groups and have priority for the administration of the 3rd dose is proceeding.
The Ministry of Health assures that there is sufficient mRNA technology vaccines for vaccination with a 3rd dose of those who wish to do so.
At the same time, the percentage of the adult population vaccinated at least with the 1st dose is at 80.8%, and the percentage of fully vaccinated adults is at 77.4%.
In children aged 16 and 17 years, the percentage of those who received at least the 1st dose reaches 41% and those fully vaccinated at 35.5%. At the youngest ages (12-15 years), 26.2% received at least the 1st dose and 18.8% completed their vaccination regimen.
