ROAD WORKS W/c 13 September

 

On the Nicosia-Limassol motorway, from Wednesday, April 14, 2021, works will be carried out to improve the Kornos I/C. The works will last 15 months and concern on the one hand the improvement of the existing branches of the junction on the west side of the motorway, for the entrance to the motorway from Kornos/ Pyrga to Nicosia and for the exit from Limassol to Kornos/ Pyrga,and on the other hand the creation of a new entrance on the east side, from Korno/Pyrga to Limassol.

 

On the Nicosia-Limassol motorway, on the section from the Moni exit to Germasogeia during the period 6/9/2021–14/9/2021,from 21:00 in the evening until 06:00 in the morning of the next day, except Friday, Saturday and Sunday, horizontal signage works will be carried out. During the works, a lane in one direction, up to a length of up to 1.0 km, will be partially closed at any time. approximately every time, and traffic will be channelled to the adjacent lane.

 

Also on the Nicosia-Limassol motorway, from Monday 9/8/2021 and for a period of about two (2) months, at kornos i/c, works will be carried out to improve the existing entrance from Kornos to the motorway towards Nicosia. During the works, the entrance from Kornos to the motorway towards Nicosia will be closed and traffic to Nicosia will be channelled to Sia I/C via the old Nicosia-Limassol road.

 

On the Limassol-Pafos motorway, from Monday 6/9/2021 until Thursday 30/9/2021, daily except weekends, between the hours of 08:30 - 18:00, in both directions, from the Konia Roundabout to Petra tou Romiou, including the exits, road lighting replacement and maintenance works will be carried out with LED-type luminaires by the Department of Electromechanical Services. During the works, the express lane in both directions will be partially closed and traffic will be channelled to the slow lane. As far as exits are concerned, arrangements will be made on the spot.

 

Also on the Limassol-Pafos motorway, in both directions to Limassol and Paphos, in the sections between the exits of Agia Varvara-Anarita, on Friday 17/9/2021,between the hours of 09:00 and 13:00, works will be carried out to export asphalt concrete cores. Work will be carried out on both lanes, left and right, which will be closed alternately.

 

In Nicosia, from Monday 13/9/2021 until Thursday 16/9/2021, from 20:00 in the evening until 06:00 in the morning of the next day, road repair works will be carried out on Vasileos Pavlou Avenue in Engomi, Larnakos Avenue in Nicosia and Archbishop Kyprianou Avenue in Latsia. During the works the avenues will be closed in sections 600m long. approximately every time and the movement of traffic will be through the adjacent lanes.

 

In Nicosia district, from Monday 19/4/21 and for a period of 6 months, except Saturday, Sunday and holidays, between the hours of 07:00–17:00, road repair works will be carried out on roads in various areas. During the execution of the works, one lane will be partially closed at a length of about 200 meters and the movement of traffic will take place in the other lane, using the "STOP &GO" signage.

 

In the Limassol district,on the Limassol-Platres road, in the area of the Moniatis Community Council, during the period from 23/8/2021 to 24/9/2021 from 08:00 to 16:00 on weekdays except weekends, construction works will be carried out by a private contracting company. During the works, one lane of traffic about 100 m long at a time will be partially closed at any time and traffic will be managed alternately with temporary traffic lights.

 

In Larnaca,during the period 1/9/2021 – 30/9/2021, between the hours of 08:30 – 17:00, except weekends, at Spyrou avenues Kyprianou, Famagusta, Demetris Christofias and Tassos Papadopoulos,cleaning and pruning works of the central islets will be carried out by Larnaka Municipality. During the works, one lane will be closed from both directions and traffic will be channelled to the adjacent lane.

 

On the old Nicosia-Limassol road, in the context of the construction works of the Vasilikos Energy Centre Road Network, during the period 24/4/2021-23/10/2021,the eastern road that connects the old Nicosia-Limassol road with the port of Vasilikos will be closed to traffic police. During the works, traffic to and from Vassilikos will be channelled to the corresponding western road, through Mari, except for vehicles and pedestrians moving to and from roadside properties for which the appropriate arrangements will be made.

 

Also, on the old Nicosia-Limassol road, during the period 23/08/2021 – 15/10/2021,daily except Sundays and holidays, between the hours of 07:00 – 16:00, construction works of water pipelines will be carried out by the Water Development Department. During the works, part of the one lane of traffic, the road, from the 'Choirokoitia Reservoir' to the pumping station of the T.A.Y. in Kofinou, in the direction to Kofinou, will be partially closed at a length of about 100 meters (total length of about 850 meters) and the movement of traffic will take place in the adjacent lane, with the use of temporary traffic lights.

 

Also, on the old Limassol-Nicosia road, on the section near Moni junction, during the period from 25/8/2021 to 30/9/2021 from 07:00 to 17:00 daily except Sundays and holidays, construction / installation works of a pipeline for the needs of SALA will be carried out by a private company. During the works, the northern lane will be partially closed in the direction to Nicosia at a length of approximately 120 m., the traffic will be channelled to the southern lane and traffic will be managed with temporary traffic lights.

 

On the road Karvounia – Kyperounta,in the area of the Community Council of Kyperounta,during the period 6/9/2021 – 15/10/2021,between the hours of 07:30 – 17:00, daily except weekends and holidays, works will be carried out by the Electricity Authority of Cyprus to increase the electricity load of the Troodos Regional Hospital. During the works, one lane of 100m length will be partially closed at any time. approximately every time and traffic will be managed alternately with temporary traffic lights, which will remain in operation and outside working hours.
