JOINT FRANCO-CYPRIOT EXERCISE OFF THE COAST OF LARNACA

Cyprus and France held a joint exercise, on the occasion of the presence of the French frigate FS Aconit in the Eastern Mediterranean region. The air force of the Air Force Command (MA) also participated in the exercise.

According to an announcement by the Hellenic National Guard General Staff, the exercise took place in the sea area east of Larnaka and on behalf of the MA participated an AW-139 helicopter of the 460 Search & Rescue Squadron, performing landings and landings in the specially designed area of the frigate.

The conduct of the exercise, contributed to the increase of the level of operational readiness and combat capability of the participating departments, enhances interoperability and proves in practice the excellent relationship of the Armed Forces of the two countries, which is constantly being upgraded, says the Geef.

Moreover, it is noted, it reflects the wide web of cooperation in which the National Guard participates, actively contributing to the common goal of consolidating security and stability in the Eastern Mediterranean region and beyond.

In a post on the Account of the French Embassy in Cyprus, on Twitter, it is reported that a new bilateral exercise took place yesterday between the French Navy and the Cyprus Air Force.

The Crossdeck operations involved the French frigate Aconit and a helicopter from Squadron 460 SAR, it added.
