CYPRUS ABOVE EU AVERAGE IN COVID DEATHS

Greece is in third place and Cyprus in eighth place, in the ratio of covid-19 deaths, among 30 European countries, the latest data from the European Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (ECDC) show.

Higher than the average is Cyprus with 25.9 deaths per million population.

The highest death rates among 30 European countries, according to the ECDC:

Bulgaria 131.34

Lithuania 76.59

Greece 54,11

Romania 45.42

Croatia 34.25

Latvia 28.83

Cyprus 25.90

Average 15.84

In the best position is Iceland with zero deaths, followed by the Czech Republic (2.34), Poland (2.87) and Finland (3.44).

However, the situation in Greece has improved compared to the peak of the pandemic in early December 2020, when deaths reached 133 per million population, according to data collected by the OurWorldInData.org.
