109 (positivity rate: 0.18%) new cases of COVID-19 were identified today from 60,278 molecular tests (PCR) and antigen rapid tests, bringing the total number of cases to 119,590.
As the Ministry of Health still informs, no deaths of patients with a final cause of death of COVID-19 were recorded, and therefore the total number of deaths remains 550.
At the same time, 77 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, of which 34 are in serious condition. 76.83% of hospitalized patients have no history of vaccination.

Today's results are detailed.
A. Deaths from COVID-19:
No deaths of COVID-19 patients were recorded. Therefore, the total number of deaths with a final cause of COVID-19 remains 550, of which:
- 350 men (64%), and
- 200 women (36%).
The average age of those voted by the disease is 76.3 years.
B. Hospitalized:
In total, 77 covid-19 patients are hospitalized in the hospitals of the CySEC, of which 34 are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.
Of the 34 patients who are in serious condition, 14 are intubated, two are hospitalized in an off-ventilator Intensive Care Unit and 18 in an Increased Care Unit.
C. Positive cases of COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):
Of the 60,278 diagnoses made, 5,643 were made by the molecular method (PCR) and 54,634 by the antigen rapid test method, 109 cases of COVID-19 were identified, resulting as follows:
- 20 cases from 283 samples taken through the process of contact tracing of already confirmed cases.
- 8 cases from 2,903 samples taken in the context of passenger screening at Larnaka and Paphos Airports.
- 12 cases from 2,155 samples taken through a private initiative.
- 2 cases from 162 samples taken from the Microbiology Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
- 52 cases from 31,669 samples tested by the antigen rapid test in private clinical laboratories and pharmacies.
- 15 cases from 22,966 samples tested by the antigen rapid test method through the Ministry of Health's programme.
In addition, the following tests were carried out, without the detection of a case:
- 140 samples taken in the framework of the referral program by Personal Physicians and control of special teams through the Public Health Clinics.
