3rd DOSE OF VACCINE - 83+ AT WALK IN [PAPHOS GEN HOSPITAL] FROM MONDAY 27 SEPTEMBER

Continuing its efforts for the timely protection of the population belonging to vulnerable groups with a booster vaccination against COVID-19, in view of the winter, the Ministry of Health proceeds from Monday, September 27, 2021,to the administration of a 3rd dose to citizens aged 83 years and over.

Vaccinations are carried out at the walk-in vaccination centres from Monday to Thursday, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

It is reminded that all citizens must submit an identification document (IDENTITY Card, Passport, Alien Registration Card, etc.), as well as their vaccination card. The booster dose is given an mRNA vaccine, regardless of the vaccine initially administered.

Beneficiaries for vaccination with a booster dose through the walk-in centres are those citizens who have completed their vaccination regimen (vaccination with the 2nd dose of the vaccine) by March 31, 2021 and fall into the age group announced each time.

It is clarified that, according to the attendance that will be observed, the age of the beneficiaries will gradually decrease. Citizens are invited to follow the announcements that will be issued by the Ministry of Health with the age groups that will have priority.

At the same time, vaccination continues with a 3rd dose of health professionals, people belonging to vulnerable groups who have priority to receive the booster dose. In the next few days, vaccination on nursing homes is completed.

Regarding the vaccination coverage rate, 80.6% of the adult population has been vaccinated with at least the 1st dose and 77.1% have completed their vaccination regimen. In addition, 40.7% of people 16 and 17 years old received the 1st dose and 34.9% have been fully vaccinated. In relation to children aged 12-15 years, 25.6% of the 1st dose has been administered, while 17.7% have received the 2nd dose and have completed their vaccination regimen.
