In total, 230 new cases of COVID-19 and another death of a fellow citizen announced today by the Ministry of Health.
One person has died from COVID-19, bringing the total number of deaths to 535. The one person who died with the final cause of death attributed to COVID-19, concerns a woman, aged 64, who ended up today in the Intensive Care Unit of Nicosia General Hospital.
108 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, of which 43 are in serious condition. 75% of hospitalized patients have no history of vaccination.
11 post-COVID patients who have ceased to be infectious (declassified cases), continue to be hospitalized intubated in a serious condition due to COVID in Intensive Care Units.
A total of 75,645 tests have been performed to detect the disease using the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid test.
230 (positivity rate: 0.30%) new cases of COVID-19 were identified by molecular tests (PCR) and antigen rapid tests, bringing the total number of cases to 118,446.
The total number of deaths with a final cause of COVID-19 is 535, of which 343 are men (64%), and 192 are women (36%).
The average age of those voted by the disease is 76.3 years.
B. Hospitalized:
In total, 108 covid-19 patients are hospitalized in the hospitals of the CySEC, of which 43 are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.
Of the 43 patients who are in serious condition, 19 are intubated in an Intensive Care Unit and 24 in an Increased Care Unit.

C. Positive cases of COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):
Of the 75,645 diagnoses performed, 5,913 were made by the molecular method (PCR) and 69,732 by the antigen rapid test, 230 cases of COVID-19 were identified, resulting as follows:
- 20 cases from 283 samples taken through the process of contact tracing of already confirmed cases.
- 5 cases from 1,973 samples taken in the context of passenger screening at Larnaka and Paphos Airports.
- 45 cases from 3,128 samples taken through private initiative.
- 5 cases from 302 samples taken from the Microbiology Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
- 120 cases from 48,421 samples tested by the antigen rapid test method in private clinical laboratories and pharmacies.
- 35 cases from 21,311 samples tested by the antigen rapid test method through the Ministry of Health's programme.
In addition, the following tests were carried out, without the detection of a case:
- 227 samples taken in the framework of the referral program by Personal Physicians and control of special teams through the Public Health Clinics.
