PAPHOS ELLADOS AVENUE WORKS - DIVERSIONS FROM MONDAY 30 AUGUST

After the works that began at isolated points, the bulldozers enter from Monday on Ellados Avenue itself to begin the very large and important project of improvement and redevelopment of this central road and commercial axis of the city. As announced today by the Municipality of Pafos, the construction works for the improvement of Ellados Avenue, start from its northwest side.

Specifically, from next Monday the northerly direction lane, from Paphos to Mesogi, will remain closed from the height of Byzantium Street until 200 meters after Lidl supermarket.

Traffic will be chanelled through Olympus, Vasileos Konstantinou [up past Evangelismos Hospital], Georgiou Nikolaou and Dimokratias streets to the east and via Byzantiou and Alexandrou Papagou streets in the west. The lane heading from Mesogi to Paphos will remain in operation.

Work includes underground services, reconstruction or construction of roads and pavements, parking spaces, upgrading of street lighting and more.

The Municipality of Pafos assures the public that it makes every effort to cause the least possible inconvenience from the execution of this important project that will change the image of the city and asks for its understanding.

The project, with a total cost of €9 million plus VAT, is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund, the Republic of Cyprus and the Municipality of Paphos.
