The public's attention is drawn by the Police regarding a new malware scam sent via e-mails.
In recent days, it has been observed that sms messages have been sent to citizens' mobile phones, stating that the owners of the phones are winners and have won a draw of a recent date, e.g., Sunday 29/08/2021 and an electronic link is sent to them with the message, an electronic link to choose it. The electronic link, however, contains, as it has been found, malware (virus) and by opening the link the malware infects the software programs of citizens' mobile phones.
The Police call on the public to be particularly cautious about such messages sent by unknown persons via telephone devices, via e-mail or on social media platforms.
Citizens are urged to be careful and avoid opening any electronic link containing such messages, before checking and confirming the existence of such a competition, through another search on official websites of the organizers or through telephone communication with the organizers of the competition.
