493 NEW CASES, FOUR DEATHS, MONDAY

Four people died from COVID-19 disease, bringing the total number of deaths to 426, the Department of Health announced Monday. At the same time, 493 were identified (positivity rate: 1.47%) new cases of COVID-19 disease from molecular tests (PCRs) and antigen rapid tests, bringing the total number of cases to 102,716.

A total of 287 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, including 88 in serious condition. 88.62% of nurses have no history of vaccination.

A total of 33,583 disease detection tests have been carried out using the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid test.

The four people who died with the final cause of death attributed to COVID-19 disease, concern a woman, aged 81 years, who ended up on 30 July in the General Hospital of Limassol, a man, aged 64, who ended up yesterday at the General Hospital of Limassol, a man, aged 76, who ended up today in the Intensive Care Unit of the Nicosia General Hospital and a man , aged 68, who ended up today at Limassol General Hospital.

Therefore, the total number of deaths with the final cause of COVID-19 is 426, of which 280 are men (66%), and 146 women (34%).

The average age of the deceased from the disease is 77.1 years.

A total of 287 patients with COVID-19 disease are hospitalized in THE HOSPITALS, 88 of whom are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.

Of the 88 patients in serious condition, 36 are intubated, seven are hospitalized in an Off-Respirator Intensive Care Unit and 45 are in an Increased Care Unit.

Here are today's results in detail.

A. Deaths from COVID-19:

The four people who died with the final cause of death attributed to COVID-19 concern:

  • Woman, aged 81, who ended up on 30 July at Limassol General Hospital.
  • A man, aged 64, who ended up in Limassol General Hospital yesterday.
  • Man, aged 76, who ended up today in the Intensive Care Unit of Nicosia General Hospital

B. Hospitalized:

C. Positive events COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):

Of the 33,583 diagnoses currently carried out, 7,786 were made using the molecular method (PCR) and 25,797 using the antigen rapid test, 493 cases of COVID-19 disease were identified, resulting as follows:

  • 9 cases of 3,523 samples taken as part of a passenger check at Larnaca and Paphos Airports.
  • 156 cases from 3,706 samples taken through a private initiative.
  • 45 cases from 305 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
  • 2 cases from 221 samples taken under the referral program by Personal Physicians and special teams control through Public Health Clinics.
  • 162 cases from 9,685 samples tested using the antigen rapid test in private clinical laboratories and pharmacies.
  • 119 cases from 16,112 samples tested using the antigen rapid test through the Ministry of Health programme.

In addition, the following tests were carried out, without the detection of a case:

  • 31 samples taken through the process of tracing contacts of already confirmed cases.
