257 new cases of Covid-19 disease were announced today by the Ministry of Health, while for the first time in many days no death was recorded.
- No deaths of patients with a final cause of death, COVID-19, were recorded today, so the total number of deaths remains 486.
- 181 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, of which 75 are in serious condition. 86.19% of hospitalized people have no history of vaccination.
- 14 post-COVID patients who have ceased to be infectious (declassified cases), continue to be hospitalized intubated in a serious condition due to COVID in Intensive Care Units.
- A total of 39,578 tests have been performed to detect the disease using the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid test.
- 257 (positivity rate: 0.65%) new cases of COVID-19 were identified by molecular tests (PCR) and antigen rapid tests, bringing the total number of cases to 112,278.
A. Deaths from COVID-19:
No deaths of COVID-19 patients were recorded. Therefore, the total number of deaths with a final cause of COVID-19 remains 486, of which:
- 313 men (64%), and
- 173 women (36%).
The average age of those voted by the disease is 77 years.
B. Hospitalized:
In total, 181 covid-19 patients are hospitalized in the hospitals of the CySEC, of which 75 are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.
Of the 75 patients who are in serious condition, 37 are intubated, four are hospitalized in an off-ventilator Intensive Care Unit and 34 in an Increased Care Unit.

C. Positive cases of COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):
Of the 39,578 diagnoses made today, 5,536 were made by the molecular method (PCR) and 34,042 by the antigen rapid test, 257 cases of COVID-19 were identified, resulting as follows:
- 38 cases from 245 samples taken through the process of contact tracing of already confirmed cases.
- 4 cases from 2,720 samples taken in the context of passenger screening at Larnaka and Paphos Airports.
- 33 cases from 2,230 samples taken through private initiative.
- 7 cases from 247 samples taken from the Microbiology Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
- 113 cases from 20,627 samples tested by the antigen rapid test method in private clinical laboratories and pharmacies.
- 62 cases from 13,415 samples tested by the antigen rapid test method through the Ministry of Health's programme.
In addition, the following tests were carried out, without the detection of a case:
- 86 samples taken in the framework of the referral program by Personal Physicians and control of special teams through the Public Health Clinics.
- 8 samples taken as part of a closed structure check.
