The procedures for the coastal pedestrian street of Peyia are progressing, with the announcement of the offer, according to the Mayor of Peyia Marino Lambrou. In a statement to the CYPE, Mr Lambrou said that the coastal pedestrian street of Peyia concerns a 2 km long urban project in phase I, and its cost amounts to about €2.5 million.
The project, he continued, is part of the wider coastal pedestrian street that starts from the area of the Marina in Potima to the port of Agios Georgios in Peyia, a total length of 14 km.
In the first phase of the project, he noted, the announced section provides for the construction of an amphitheatre, an outdoor gym, a basketball court, a gazebo and a playground. According to Mr Lambrou this is a very important project that will upgrade the Municipality of Peyia. The completion of the project is estimated at 18 months.
In addition, referring to the asphalts, he said that the Municipality of Peyia started in the same year the announcement of the asphalt project at a cost of €1million. Our goal, he continued, is the comfort and safety of the citizens and visitors of Peyia with the completion of the entire road network of Peyia, he concluded.
