After almost three hours of sitting, the Council of Ministers yesterday reached final decisions aimed at persuading or forcing citizens to proceed with their vaccination.
The Government's decisions include five different pillars, incentives, measures and actions, including consultation with all economic operators and stepping up efforts to inform and raise awareness among citizens.
Announcing the new measures, Health Minister Michalis Hatzipantellas said the aim of the decisions was "to protect Public Health and ensure the proper functioning of the economy and society". He appealed to young people to "reflect on the extent of their responsibility. To protect themselves first and foremost. And then their family members, their parents, grandfather and grandmother, the whole of our society in general." "We ask our young people," he said, "to take the first step. To rush to get vaccinated and send the message that in this fight, we are all united."
